SR. SOFTWARE ENGINEER

My client, a leading provider of innovative software for the derivatives trading industry, is looking for a passionate technologist to join a brand new team as a senior software engineer. This is a truly unique opportunity to use your technical expertise to take a leading financial software firm to the next level. This is a permanent opportunity based out of New York City, and will pay a base salary between 100-160k depending on the candidates level of experience. The company also offers an attractive benefits and performance based bonus environment.

As a senior software engineer, you will be working on new green-field projects relating to the firm's real-time portfolio and risk management software platforms. You will have the opportunity to develop solutions in a complex, challenging and innovative environment and help drive your ideas through to implementation. You will be expected to develop exceptional new software, to learn and share new tools and technologies and provide leadership and strategic vision within the team.

In order to qualify for this opportunity, you must meet the following set of criteria:
-Proficiency in both C++ and Java (candidates who are very strong in one language and proficient in the other will be consider; candidates must be willing to develop in both C++ and Java)
-Experience with the following technologies a plus: Boost, CouchDB, MongoDB, SOAP/REST
-Sound computer science fundamentals with a degree from a top-tier computer science program (candidates will ideally also have a graduate degree)
-Flexibility and desire to work on different platforms and in a diverse set of technologies
-Experience creating large scale web applications, building internal scale distributed systems or working on high volume client/server systems required
-Excellent communication, problem solving and analytical skills with the enthusiasm and drive to ensure quality product is delivered
