Sr. Developer-Credit Algo-VP
The Credit Electronic & Algo Trading (CEAT) team are a highly-skilled business aligned team of business technologists responsible for a comprehensive suite of pre-trade tools used by the Credit Trading business globally. The team has been given mandate to design, build and enhance electronic and algorithmic capabilities in the Credit space working closely with the desk, Quantitative research and core technology. Products covered by the group include corporate bonds, single name CDS, index CDS & index CDS options.
The Role
We need to sustain the continuous growth of our etrading & Algo capabilities, driven by business and regulatory demands. The successful candidate will be part of a small team and will be primarily responsible for the design & implementation of product expansion of our electronic and algorithmic capabilities.
The role requires an experienced well rounded self-motivated individual who enjoys working as part of a team. It is expected that the candidate will come with deep technical knowledge, business understanding and excellent communication skills who is comfortable working directly with credit trading desk and as a part of high performance team in a high pressure, challenging and dynamic working environment. Focus on solving business problems via technology is a key aspect of the role, many a times employing RAD methodologies to evolve the infrastructure in ever changing environment where time to market is critical and comprising on quality or longevity are not an option.
Key Responsibilities
oDevelop cutting edge high availability trading systems including building new applications/infrastructure & enrich existing applications as a part of the team using variety of advance technologies in Pre-trade space. This needs to be done according to the global electronic trading roadmap/strategy and lay foundation for algorithmic trading infrastructure.
oUnderstanding of end-to-end price distribution and trade processing, including venues, execution and trade capture automation. Building understanding vendor of platforms and components.
oBuild strong relationships founded on trust, integrity & delivery with our partners on the trading desk, research, QR, market risk, operations & technology.
oManage multiple high profile deliveries simultaneously with the decisiveness to switch focus instantly as market events dictate.
Requirements
oSound understanding of fundamental computer science concepts and experience in advance computing concepts especially in real-time, high performance and eTrading areas (3+ years).
oShould have practiced advance programming with strong grasp of object oriented programming and middleware/communication technologies. Hands on knowledge of Ion, 29West, FIX protocol, Time series database, designing multithreaded systems will be plus.
oIn-depth understanding of credit derivatives & cash bonds; how they are priced, how & why they are traded, how & why risk is measured & managed will be highly desirable. Knowledge of other asset classes may be considered if knowledge is deemed to be suitably transferable.
oQuick-thinking, intelligent, pragmatic, with a love of problem-solving using technology with an ability to quickly translate requirements into sound technical designs and implementation.
oExposure of working in a dynamic & demanding trading floor environment requiring daily interaction with traders. Superb organisational skills, decisive priority management, strong teamwork ethic, excellent verbal & written communication skills, ability to think locally & execute globally
oA keen interest in the financial markets with an awareness of sentiments & major market events
oDeep understanding of C# or Java (C++, Python also considered). Technical understanding of Middleware technologies (RMDS, TIBCO, LBM), Database (Relational & Time series), High performance & availability patterns.
Qualifications
*Ideally the candidate should 3-5 years of work experience in a trading environment delivering outstanding technical solutions facilitating tangible $ generation
*Ideally to masters degree level in CS, Math or engineering discipline or equivalent
